Terroir Artisan Chocolate
Welcome to Terroir Artisanal Chocolates, where every bite tells a story of passion, origin, and craftsmanship.
Our founder and chocolatier, Mayara Zanote, grew up in Brazil watching her mother handcraft chocolates in a small family business. Every Easter, she helped shape and wrap bonbons, discovering early on the magic that transforms cacao into joy.
Years later, after studying Agronomy and moving to England, Mayara decided to refine her chocolate-making skills and that was how "Salt & Sugar Art Chocolate" was born, starting from humble stalls at local Farmers’ Markets.
In 2023, a new chapter began. After relocating to Yorkshire, Mayara found a charming little shop in Beverley, and the brand “Terroir” was born.
“I had just returned from the Amazon when I got the keys to the shop in Yorkshire, and the name "Terroir" wouldn’t leave my mind. Seeing cacao from different regions, each with its own colour, flavour, and fermentation techniques, that magical journey from fruit to chocolate… the name had to be Terroir, because it represents exactly that.”
In 2024, after countless hours in her kitchen, studying, experimenting, and perfecting, Mayara entered her first international competition: the Academy of Chocolate Awards, earning her very first medal.
In 2025, Terroir Artisanal Chocolates proudly became a British Chocolate Award winner in the bonbon category, a small yet meaningful recognition for your dedication, care, and love poured into every piece.

Our refreshed identity reflects our commitment to flavour, beauty, and memorable experiences.
